Doug has over two decades of experience as a principal investor in private equity and real estate. Completing his first transaction at the age of 17, his career has allowed him to complete over 150 transactions in the last 5 years. Over the years Doug developed a keen sense of market cycles/timing as seen in the short selling of a basket of home builder stocks in 2007/8 followed by the acquisition and exit of several large non-performing loan portfolios as well as platted residential lots in 2009-2015 with institutional capital and high net worth investors.
Douglas graduated from the University of South Florida with a BS in Finance and has been a licensed real estate broker for over 30 years. Krishnan Varier, Managing Partner, Arcadian Capital
Krishnan joined Arcadian in 2018 to help lead our principal investing activities, including deal sourcing, due diligence and negotiations, bringing more than 15 years of financial services and Wall Street deal-making experience and knowledge. For much of his career, Krishnan served as a healthcare investment banker in relationship coverage roles with Cowen, BofA-Merrill Lynch and Morgan Keegan and has completed more than $6 billion in closed capital raising and M&A transactions.
Krishnan began independently working with companies in the cannabis industry in 2016 in varying capacities as a private investor, mentor, advisor and consultant. Krishnan completed his undergraduate studies in 2001 at the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a B.A. in Economics with a focus in Business Administration.
